Scientists are finally figuring out what we in the holistic healing arts have known all along; honey and cinnamon are effective in fighting all kinds of ailments without causing any horrible side effects. I've compiled 6 common ailments that are easily treated with a combination of the two. As always, never disregard medical or professional advice, or delay seeking it, because of something you read on this site or any other website.
BLADDER INFECTIONS: Chronic bladder problems and
UTI's? Drink two tablespoons of cinnamon powder and one teaspoon of honey in a glass of lukewarm water every day. It destroys the germs in the bladder without messing with the bacteria.
COLDS: Mix one tablespoon lukewarm honey with 1/4 spoon cinnamon powder and consume daily for three days. This process will cure most chronic cough, colds, and clear the sinuses.
RASPY OR SORE THROAT: When throat has a tickle or is raspy, take one tablespoon of honey and sip until gone. Repeat every three hours until until you feel better or symptoms are alleviated.
PIMPLES: Mix three tablespoons of honey and one teaspoon of cinnamon powder to make a paste. Apply this paste on the pimples before sleeping and wash it off the next morning with warm water. When done daily for two weeks, it removes all pimples from the root.
SKIN INFECTIONS: Apply honey and cinnamon powder in equal parts to the affected area 2 x a day until issue is resolved. Do not rinse off.
FATIGUE: Recent studies have shown that the sugar content of honey is more helpful than detrimental to the strength of the body. Senior citizens who take honey and cinnamon powder in equal parts are more alert and flexible. A half tablespoon of honey and a sprinkle of cinnamon powder in a glass of water taken daily upon waking and in the afternoon around 3:00 P.M.
Try these and let me know what works for you! I use all six all the time and they work like a charm for me, not only as a cure, but as preventive medicine.
I am always on the lookout for natural cures, especially with flu and cold season right around the corner. Since my job is keeping athletes on the field, I'll often recommend natural, preventative measures or early intervention recipes to prevent colds and the flu.
This alternative, natural remedy will clean and revitalize your lungs.
I always use only organic, non-gmo and, if possible, local grown ingredients.
Put the water and the brown sugar in a pot and heat it until it starts to boil. Stir in the garlic, the ginger root and the turmeric. Bring back to a boil and lower to simmer for 20 minutes. Cool and store it in a covered glass container (old jar) in the refrigerator. Leave the pieces of ingredients that did not cook away in it, but you do not have to ingest them.
Shake jar before using. Take 2 tablespoons a day: 1 in the morning before breakfast and 1 in the evening before bed. This doesn't taste any worse than than your typical over the counter cough syrup and it is much better for you, with no contraindications or nasty side-effects!
Try it and let me know what you think. Did it work for you?Could you stand the taste?
I often get asked if I use essential oils. And I say yes, yes I do. I am not schooled in the use of them and my curiosity has only just recently been sparked by the healing benefits of essential oils. And while I am considering adding them to my repertoire of healing modalities, I just wanted to share my experience with you all.
I have been using Plant Therapy, Germ Fighter, (available here http://amzn.to/1jXhew8) for about a year. I have an electric wall plug in oil burner (available here http://amzn.to/1LASyzK) that runs 24/7 in a center outlet in my house. Germ Fighter is supposed to protect us from getting the horrible bugs that go around, as well as protect us from the common cold, sore throat and even allergies. Legend tells that this essential oil blend was what was used by robbers during medieval times to protect themselves from the plague. It seems that they would break into the homes of victims of the plaque and not contract it. The robbers swore it was the essential oil blend that protected them.
I have to say that I believe that IT WORKS. While everyone around us tends to pick up many of the nasty bugs and illnesses going around, we mostly stay fairly healthy. If I find that a few of us (there are 6 of us) are getting run down or we start with a few coughs and sniffles, I can usually relate it to not using the oil for a few days. I just make sure to add a few drops every day and voila! we are better.
While the use of essential oils has gone on for thousands of years, recent research studies are showing that they have positive effects on many medical conditions. Essential Oils can be used in diffusers and misters, topically and orally.

Want your skin to look and feel better than ever before? Want to save money at the same time? I am always on the lookout for all natural skin care products that aren't outrageously expensive and came across this recipe awhile ago. Since I have been using it religiously, my skin texture has improved immensely, to the point that women comment on how good it looks on a regular basis.
While sugar is not good for your insides, I can vouch that it definitely good for your outsides! There are some people who will say not to use sugar on your skin as it is too coarse, however I would beg to differ. I do not use coarse sugar in scrubs that I am going to use on my face and recommend that you only use fine sugar. You can actually make a body scrub using coarse sugar and I will be sharing that recipe in another post.
1/2 cup organic granulated brown sugar; If too coarse you can reduce sugar to 1/4 cup. Sample on your inner wrist the first time you use it. You don't want it to hurt or to irritate your skin.
1/2 organic coconut oil
Optional: I don't use any scent, but some people want a fragrance
1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract or
3/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice or
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon or
essential oils of your choice
Combine ingredients in a bowl. Mix by hand or with a mixer well. DO NOT HEAT as sugar will melt.
You should only need to use about 1 tablespoon. You can use it in shower or at the sink.
Massage in a circular motion for 30 seconds or until sugar "melts". Rinse and pat dry. This can be used everyday. An additional benefit of this recipe is you have a built in moisturizer with the coconut oil.
Store in an airtight container.
