I spend a lot of time in the woods. I live in the woods. And I've seen what Lyme Disease can do to someone as well as experienced it first-hand. But, I don't like chemicals and I don't like bugs or ticks. I also don't like the smell of citronella, which didn't leave me with too many choices out there for protection, as it seems that that is the go to in natural insect protection.
So of course, being me, I decided to create my own. Not only does it smell amazing, it repels every type of insect out there; spiders, ants, deer flies as well as all types of ticks, mosquito's and biting flies.
You can spray it around your house, on your sheets and around the yard to keep your area insect free. You can spray it on yourself, your clothes, your hats and helmets and your shoes. The cinnamon bark can be a skin irritant (even though it is all organically sourced) so it is recommended everyone who uses it spots tests for irritability.

Sport Yoga to Nip Back Pain in the Bud! Skied pretty hard today and know I needed this so I can ski pretty hard again tomorrow. The beauty of yoga is that it can be done anywhere and at anywtime.
🙏Fish Pose: stretches the Psoas and intercostals while strengthening the upper back and neck. Quad set your legs while actively moving your torso. Breathe out on the stretch.
🙏Reclining Hand to Big Toe Pose: stretch your hamstrings while strengthening your abs. Quad set your stationary leg while engaging the quads on the moving leg to really stretch the back of the leg🙏Adding the bended knee moves the stretch closer to the tendons near your glutes where most pulls and strains occur.
⛷Do this in the morning before you get up or when you go to bed at night.
⛷Hold each pose for 2s and repeat at least 10x
Let me just say that I am willing to try anything right now. Except synthetic hormones or go to the doctor which makes most of my family crazy, but I don't particularly care. I have always known about essential oils, but never quite understood how they worked and didn't put much effort into learning about them. I mean, how could a scent fix a hot flash? Or reduce stress?
And then I got menopause. And I began researching EVERYTHING. I kept coming back to a video by Dr. Axe, the homeopathic doctor that millions adore. He posted a video in which he gave the 4 most important essential oils for menopause, what they did and how they worked. So I went out and bought all the ingredients and made my own. And it worked. I followed his instructions on my first batch, but continued to educate myself even further and have evolved the original blend to the one below. It works for me.
Essential oils work by triggering and strengthening our bodies own natural processes. They are applied through the skin and enter the blood stream through the capillaries where they are taken to various parts of the body, binding to the cell receptors in the target organs and basically self correcting the deficiency. Because they do self correct, essential oil mixes often have to be adjusted to the individual, which makes it a less scientific process. Follow the link below to learn more about the mechanics:

I combined the following organic essential oils. I bought glass roll top bottles and use an organic coconut carrier oil, which I use to top off the bottle after I've added all the drops. I bought all ingredients on www.amazon.com

Add to bottle, top off with carrier oil and shake vigourously. Whenever I feel a hot flash coming, you know that initial feeling of hysteria and heat, I roll it it on my neck 5 times , but there are other areas that work as well: on the wrists, inside the elbow, on your abdomen or on the bottom of your feet. The more that I apply it the less I have to use it, if that makes any sense. I started using it 3 months ago and was applying it at least 10 times a day. At this point, I am using it about 4 times a day. My weight gain has stopped (I haven't lost any but at least it's stopped) and my hot flashes aren't nearly as severe as they were.

Because celery helps to reduce uric acid and stimulates urine production, it’s beneficial for fighting bacterial infections within the digestive tract and reproductive organs. Similarly to cranberries that are known for fighting urinary tract infections (UTIs), celery can help prevent such UTIs, as well as bladder disorders, kidney problems and possibly even cysts on reproductive organs.
Try adding it to your morning shake or bring a bunch of cut-up stalks to snack on. Remember, prevention is the best medicine!
Age is a state of mind. But it's also a state of mirror! Somedays I look in the mirror and there's this haggard, old gray haired lady looking back at me and I just don't like it. I
especially don't like how I look when Im recording a workout. The camera loves the circles
Old people look old because they are gray and ashen. You can add life by adding even just a little color. I am not a big makeup girl, but I definitely look and feel better when I have a little color.
Being the busy woman that I am, I needed a quick way to add color, but also the right way to apply it so it looked "natural". I figured out a full face touch-up that takes no time and not tons of make-up. Buying a kit helps too, because they (the colorists) combine the colors perfectly and they also come with step by step instructions for a fancier application. Bare Minerals sells some great kits for reasonable prices. It's affordable and natural. This kit is my favorite so far because it's simple and doesn't sparkle, but check out all the other all inclusive kits they sell as well.
I use my fingers tips, but you can use the brushes too. Always put makeup on after you moisturize.
Apple cider vinegar is an effective home remedy for tendonitis due to its anti-inflammatory properties. Add two teaspoons of organic apple cider vinegar to a glass of warm water. Mix in one teaspoon of honey and a sprinkle of turmeric powder. Drink this solution two to three times daily until pain free.

If you are feeling down, simply taking a walk outside on a sunny day can give you a positive boost. Studies show that exposure to sunlight stimulates the pineal gland, which produces melatonin, a hormone that regulates the circadian rhythm that controls appetite, sleep and sex hormones. It also effects the production of seratonin, a neurotransmitter often called the mood chemical. Going for a daily walk can help to provide sufficient sunlight throughout the year and can improve our and help to prevent seasonal affective disorder.
While ants are a very important part of our eco-system, they can also be an unwelcome visitor to your home. While this method is non toxic, it does harm the nest. The workers bring the "food" back to the queen and the solution kills her. Without her the colony will disband. Big, black and biting carpenter ants had decided that they wanted to live with me. This recipe worked like a charm and they have not been back! It worked very quickly for me, like within 2 days there were a few scattered sightings of ants and 2 months later I still have no ants.

For many years, I abused over the counter pain medications. Headache? Take some Tylenol. Sore knee? Take some Tylenol. Aching back? Take some Tylenol. And not only some Tylenol, but 2/500 mg Tylenol! As the years have gone on, I've become educated on the side effects of Tylenol and I've also learned alternatives to simply taking some Tylenol. Don't get me wrong, there are still some days that nothing works but Tylenol, but I feel better knowing that I have choices.
Turmeric is my first alternative choice. It contains more than 2 dozen anti inflammatory compounds. Read all about it below!
Ice helps to reduce inflammation and pain, BEFORE it happens. Use ice as an injury prevention by applying to areas that tend to get annoyed ie; knees, ankles or your back after you go for a run. For me, if I come in from skiing or biking and my knee is achy, I immediately rest and apply ice.
